How can police investigate a man who allegedly shot at police?

Police have arrested a man after he allegedly shot three shots at them, injuring three officers and one passenger in a car in an east London suburb, police said on Monday.

The man, who has not been named, was taken into custody at a police station and charged with attempted murder, wounding police officers and unlawfully obstructing an officer, Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

The man was later released from hospital.

The incident occurred at about 4pm on Sunday (local time), when officers received reports of a man firing three shots into a car.

Police were called to the area of Walthamstow Street and Highgate Road, in East London, after receiving a call about a “suspicious” car.

A man and a woman were detained on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, causing damage or distress, and possession of a firearm in public.

They were arrested at the scene.

Police said the three officers were taken to hospital for treatment.

The passenger was treated at the station for a minor injury to his head.
